Our Story
Our story starts back in 2013, when our founder was posted by the ministry of health to Busia as a Dental surgeon in a government hospital, only to find that there were a lot of patients, but the hospital had no equipment. Faced with two decisions, either to quit, or stay and do something about the problem, He chose the latter, and Marvels was born. We opened our doors to the public on 30th September 2013. We operated mainly as a two-roomed clinic, as we saved for our own home. In September 2019 we were able to shift to our own premises at the above location. Today, Marvels is a Trusted modern facility providing all dental services using state-of-the-art equipment, in a very beautiful relaxing environment. Our current catchment area includes in the four districts of Busia, Namayingo, Bugiri, and Tororo.

Services Offered
Pediatric Dentistry

Pediatric dentistry the branch of dentistry dealing with children from birth through adolescence. Pediatric dentists promote the dental health of children as well as serve as educational resources for parents.
Root canal

Root canal treatment is a routine dental procedure, which the dentists at Marvels Dental Clinic can provide for you. A root canal is needed when the blood and nerve supply of the tooth (known as the pulp) is infected through decay or injury. If the pulp becomes infected, the infection may spread through the root canal system of the tooth which will eventually lead to an abscess, and therefore it may need to be extracted. The aim of the treatment is to remove all infection from the root canal. The root is then cleaned and filled to prevent any further infection.
Dental Fillings

We offer tooth-colored fillings for a natural-looking alternative to the traditional silver/mercury fillings. Porcelain inlays and composite resins create fillings that are not only more attractive, but also add strength to weakened teeth. These restorations are also quite durable and long-lasting thanks to new bonding technologies.
Prosthetics

A dental prosthesis is a dental appliance that replaces a missing tooth or covers up tooth defects. These dental appliances include implants, crowns, bridges, dentures and veneers, and some of them can be removable or permanently fixed in your mouth.

Should I go to the dentist when I’m pregnant?
Yes. It is safe and important to see a dentist when you are pregnant. Make sure to tell your dentist that you are pregnant and about any changes you have noticed in your oral health. In some cases, pregnancy can make some dental problems worse. Brushing and flossing contributes to your overall health, too, and if your mouth is healthy, it’s more likely that your baby’s mouth will be healthy. Good daily care is vital. That means always brushing your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between your teeth once a day and eating a healthy, balanced diet.
-
Are dental X-rays safe?
Dental X-ray exams are safe; however, like all x-rays they do require very low levels of radiation. Dental X-ray tools and techniques are designed to limit the body's exposure to radiation and every precaution is taken to ensure that radiation exposure is As Low As Reasonably Achievable (the ALARA principle). For example, a leaded apron minimizes exposure to the abdomen and used when it will not interfere with acquisition of the dental radiograph. Also, a leaded thyroid collar can protect the thyroid from radiation, and should also be used whenever possible. The use of a leaded thyroid collar is recommended for women of childbearing age, pregnant women and children.

How often do I have to go to the dentist?
Some people need to visit the dentist once or twice a year; others may need more visits. There is no one-size-fits-all dental treatment schedule. You are a unique person, with a unique smile and unique needs when it comes to keeping your smile healthy. Talk to your dentist about how often you need to schedule visits.
-
How do I brush my teeth? How long should I brush?
You should brush your teeth for two minutes, twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. Choose a soft-bristled brush that fits your mouth and place the toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to the gums. Gently move the brush back and forth in short, tooth-wide strokes. Brush the outer surfaces, the inner surfaces, and the chewing surfaces of the teeth. To clean the inside surfaces of the front teeth, tilt the brush vertically and make several up-and-down strokes. Brush your tongue to remove bacteria and keep your breath fresh.
-
How do I schedule my next checkup?
Simply call our practice! Our wonderful front desk will be happy to help schedule your next dental checkup at your convenience. If you are a new patient, please let us know, and we will provide you with all the information you need for your first dental visit.
-
Can I schedule an appointment for just a cleaning?
An exam to determine your oral health is an essential first step. The hygienist will perform cleanings based on your oral health. They will quickly schedule your cleaning, allowing proper time for them to give you the attention you deserve.
